The Importance of Vaccination Timelines

Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to protect children from serious infectious diseases. Sticking to the immunization schedule helps build strong, early defense barriers.

The India National Immunization Schedule (NIS)

This schedule aligns with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in India. It includes key immunizations from birth up to 15 years:

  • At Birth: BCG (Tuberculosis), OPV-0 (Polio), and Hepatitis B birth dose.
  • 6, 10, & 14 Weeks: Pentavalent vaccine (Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, HepB, Hib), Rotavirus, OPV, and PCV.
  • 9 Months: Measles-Rubella (MR-1), PCV booster, and Vitamin A.
  • 16-24 Months: MR-2, DPT booster-1, and OPV booster.

Always record administered vaccines in your child's immunization card and consult your pediatrician for optional vaccines (like Flu, Typhoid, or Chickenpox).

Frequently Asked Questions
